    Ankota Background: Personal Tragedy inspires Entrepreneurship

    Founded in 2008, Ankota is the result of a shared tragedy; a collection of expert perspectives; and a singular vision.

    The catalyst for Ankota was a protracted cancer battle fought by the wife of one of our founders. Sandy's was a rare cancer, and the path to properly managing her care was unclear for some time. Through numerous hospitalizations, surgeries, outpatient services, nurse home-visits, and, finally, end-of-life care through Hospice, the experience exposed the tremendous gaps and inefficiencies in coordinating delivery of care. Ankota's founders saw, through Sandy's fight, the opportunity to dramatically change the life of patients and those who seek to care for them.

    That initial vision became Ankota's Healthcare Delivery Management model - a patient-centric, performance-focused approach to managing the delivery of care. A model that:

    • Treats healthcare as a process;
    • Coordinates the people and resources necessary to deliver that care with greater efficiency and efficacy;
    • Offers immediate cost savings;
    • Maximizes resources for care providers;
    • Defines and leverages best practices;
    • Offers measurable results;
    • Features monitored progress;
    • Ensures consistent and continuous improvement.
