Ankota CEO Presents Keynote at Babson Healthcare and Life Sciences Spotlight Event

          Boston, MA (February 3, 2020) –

Ankota CEO, Ken Accardi, presented the opening keynote address at the "Babson College Healthcare and Life Sciences Spotlight" event, held at Babson College on January 29, 2020. The purpose of the event was to forge connections between the Babson MBA community and the health and life sciences community in Boston.

Participating companies included Havard Biosciences, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, Syneos Health, Partners Healthcare, Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, Alkermes and Vertex.

Ken's keynote, entitled "Achieving Population Health" focused on the Triple Aim of Healthcare. The Triple Aim, created by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), compels health professionals to improve the patient's experience of care, reduce cost and maximize population health. Successful examples range from the flu shot to Palliative Care at end-of-life.  Of these three objectives, the hardest to achieve is population health.

Ken's presentation enumerated several reasons why this is the case, These reasons range from disparities in access to care, failure to address social determinants of health, the transition to value-based care, and issues related to care for the elderly and disabled (aligned with Ankota's mission).

"The intention of the presentation was plant the seeds for meaningful conversations between Babson grad students and the participating companies," explained Accardi. "The Triple Aim and Population Health are 'common ground' topics' for all areas of healthcare and life sciences."

The event coordinator, Babson's Jay Robie, thanked all of the participating companies and shared the following feedback from a participating student, “Hi Jay. I wanted to let you know that I had a great time today in the spotlight.  We were in contact with amazing people and it was very well organized. Moreover, I know that my classmates were very pleased with the event.”
