Ankota Promotes Joel Merle-Smith to VP of Sales and Expands the Role of Jeremy Hammel
Boston, MA (October 16, 2019) – Ankota is pleased to announce that Joel Merle-Smith has been promoted to VP of Sales. Simultaneously, the role of Jeremy Hammel (Jed), Ankota's Director of Customer Success, has been increased to include marketing communications. Since Joel and Jed took the helm in the late spring, Ankota has welcomed over 20 new home care business customers, every one of which is live on the system. This performance over 6 months exceeded the previous two years of company sales.
Joel is a healthcare software sales industry veteran with 20 years expertise in leading edge technologies including Home Health, Hospice and Telehealth sales. Joel was the leading sales executive for the Home Health and Hospice software company, Care Anyware, signing the company’s first One million dollar SaaS contract. Care Anyware was subsequently sold to Brightree (and then Nyware that was sold to Brightree (and then Brightree was subsequently sold to Resmed).
Joel and Jed revamped Ankota's go-to-market approach to focus on increasing share in the market-segments where the company has a leadership position. "Ankota's customers love the product and they are happy to refer us to other prospects," explained Merle-Smith. "We've also added new market segments but only when we've had a strong fit with their core requirements. Ankota calls this the 'Land and Expand' strategy. and it totally works."
